I'm sorry if you've got an ugly winter day to deal with today, but it's beautiful here in Arizona, probably going to be in the mid 80's today, and right now it's nice and cool and sunny.
I've been going through all my ancient writing and picking out what I want to revamp/finish for publishing, and yesterday I went through my X-Men story, "A Day in the Life of Wolverine" (which I wrote circa 2005), and my unfinished novel "Newton's Sleep".
The Wolverine story was originally complete, but I've since hacked off the second part of it, so it's only half a story right now. I have an outline of about 7 X-Men stories that complete a series that I want to write, and the Wolverine story is just the first one. It's a fun story, and I carry deep sentiment for the characters as I grew up reading them. It wouldn't take much work to finish the story and move on to the others, so that's my plan.
"Newton's Sleep" is a novel idea I worked obsessively on from about 2002 to 2004, but work on it was agonizing. It was before I really learned the techniques to be productive writing, and it was hard to make progress. Now that I look at it, I really like it but it needs help, but I would like to get it out there as a series of mini-books too. I also have some short stories featuring the main character, and what I might do is have a book that includes a part of "Newton's Sleep" and then after it include the short stories, kind of like a comic book would.
Anyway, that's what I'm thinking about today. I have a lot of work to do, so I'm gonna get to it now!
